BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:
Steven Lee completed his doctoral degree at the University of Oxord in 1991 and joined the UBC Department of History in 1993. He works on international relations, particularly the history of the Cold War and US-Korea relations. He published Outposts of Empire (McGill-Queens) in 1996, The Korean War (Longman) in 2001, and co-edited Transformations in Twentieth Century Korea (Routledge, 2006), with Chang Yunshik. He teaches courses on Twentieth Century Global History, Twentieth Century Korea, and the International Relations of the Great Powers. He is currently writing a book on twentieth century global history for Blackwell publishers.
