BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:
Jihyun Shin is a sessional lecturer in the Department of History at the University of British Columbia. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia with her dissertation, “Building the Model Man: Money, Media, and Gender in South Korea, 1961-1972” in August 2022. Her research interests include media, gender, and culture of South Korea and of East Asia in the twentieth century
